Postal Service Suspensions

Mail suspensions took place the past two months starting September 3rd and again in October for Australia and New Zealand. These suspensions are happening for various reasons related to COVID-19 that may include temporary postal closures, lack of transportation and personnel. This resulted in having to locate and utilize different carriers. Service notifications are listed below.

Australia Post advises that operations at its Melbourne offices of exchange (IMPC codes beginning with AUMEL) are currently disrupted owing to government-imposed measures to prevent the spread of COVID-19. The associated restrictions are having a significant impact on the processing and delivery of inbound and outbound mail items. Australia Post requests that mail destined for the Melbourne offices of exchange be sent to the Sydney offices of exchange (IMPC codes beginning with AUSYD) while these measures remain in place.

USPS & Global Post are not able to deliver mail to Australia or New Zealand until further notice. Private companies such as DHL, UPS, or Federal Express are not in the business of delivering standard mail. Standard mail is what is delivered to you daily by your local postal service. Private shipping companies are utilized to ship larger freight items and packages such as furniture, wheels, tires, small packages as well as time sensitive/legal documents. Attempting to send international orders through these private companies will result in a faster delivery with a significant rate increase that may be more than the items being ordered.

PayPal Shipping Labels, No Longer an Option.

PayPal’s recent transition to ShipStation automatically removes the option to create international shipping labels for flat envelopes. Because of this, the $4.00 flat rate fee is no longer an option. Standard shipping rates will apply for all international orders including flat envelopes til further notice.

SHIPPING RATES & HOLIDAY PRICE INCREASE

FAQ’S

I paid the $4 flat rate fee for shipping, why is this no longer enough to get my order shipped and delivered?
ANSWER:
The $4 flat rate fee was only possible through PayPal USPS shipping labels. Since PayPal has transitioned to Shipstation, postage for flat envelopes are no longer a shipping option. Standard international shipping rates start at $14 for a 1 oz envelope. The holiday rate increase is also responsible for the price adjustment.

What Shipping carriers are available?
ANSWER:
At the moment, RR Donnelley, Asendia, and Aramex are still delivering packages to Australia & New Zealand through GlobalPost.

Can I use DHL to deliver my order?
ANSWER:
DHL has been added as a shipping option when checking out.

Why do you use USPS instead of DHL, UPS or FedEx?
ANSWER: USPS is the best option for shipping internationally to keep shipping costs low.
DHL, FedEx, and UPS shipping rates are between $40-$45 for 1 oz flat envelopes.(see image below) Unlike businesses and resellers that ship freight and or large packages, 95% of my shipments are flat envelopes and small packages less than 10 ounces.

If you’ve made it this far, I appreciate you taking the time to read the provided information to get a better understanding why orders to Australia & New Zealand have been delayed. I apologize for any stress this may have caused, trust me when I say, these mail service suspensions have been just as stressful on this end as well.  Orders that have been delayed and or shipped and returned, will be mailed through FedEx or RR Donnelley. If you wish to have you order shipped via DHL, or held til after the holidays, please contact me via email info@restomod.ninja
