How-To Stripe Kit Installation
June 28, 2021
The stripe kit for the most part is made to wrap around the body panels with the exception of the door area for a seamless look like earlier model S13s. However, the SUPER HICAS front quarter stripe is cut to fit as shown in the image below.
The remaining pieces can be applied as is, to wrap around each body panel or they can be trimmed for the alternative fit seen on later models S13’s.

TOOLS NEEDED
- Tack cloth
- Alcohol
- Masking tape
- Scissors
- Exacto knife
- Plastic applicator
SURFACE PREPARATION
The vehicle’s surface should be between 50-90 degrees Fahrenheit. If possible, installation should be done in a garage or a controlled environment to avoid dust and insects that can be present outdoors.
Start by washing your car as you normally would, but avoid waxing afterward. Thoroughly wipe the areas where the stripes will be applied with alcohol using a tack cloth. Wipe the areas until dry and repeat a second time.
STRIPE PREPARATION
Unroll your stripes face down on a clean flat surface and place something flat of significant weight on the ends or cover them completely to allow them to stretch out for 30 minutes to an hour. Afterward, your kit should look like the image below. With exception to your front bumper pieces, you should have two stripes for each of the following body panels:
- Front Fender
- Rear fender
- Doors
- Front Quarter
- Rear Quarter
- Rear Bumper
