Chuki vs Kouki
No longer googly-eyed over the kouki front bumper conversions (lies), I’ve come to fully embrace the Chuki aka sharknose bumper because honestly, priorities lol. Seriously though, I don’t see many, if any, clean stockish in appearance 240’s in my area. So of course I search google images which always takes me to Zilvia for the thousandth time looking to NOT jump on the bandwagon and perform the facelift. The photo that gets me to reconsider and finally pull the trigger on getting that Xenon lip is posted below, but the facelift is going to happen, just not this year.
I say the Xenon lip because for the longest time I’ve been debating between it and the East Bear style lip and the Xenon won because it appears to be less aggressive and because it looks better with my paint choice. Against a black car and some other color choices they both work.
Enjoying The Transition
I’m just getting started with this car and the last thing I’m trying to do is rush it. I actually enjoy the process of figuring out what to do when I can’t just click and buy a solution. Out of stock/production and or simply being “car parts poor” will either push you to give up or get creative. I’ve seen all the variations of this car and yet I have no idea what the end result will be, but I am going to take my time and enjoy the journey. I’m currently following Yuma Saito: wolfpackyuma on instagram and this is someone who is enjoying the process. His 240SX has transitioned through all the stock bumpers, as well as stock tail lights to custom clear to kouki tail lights.
I’ve even pondered getting a pignose bumper, but I think I’m going to stick with what I have for now and promote #teamchuki til I get bored of the look and then, who knows.
